mercury vs michael moore

Mercury ran out of disk space for a bit but is back up and running now.

For some reason, this is the week of massive logfile bloat. The downtime on manganese the other day was caused by 65 GB of disk space in a single site's log file for that day, eating up all the free space.

Today, michael moore linked a page on mercury and the site's log for today filled up to 29 gigs, at which point the hard drive maxed out. I believe it happened about two hous ago (I just drove home from florida and hadn't checked in since lunch.) Anyway, I freed up 60 gigs, and while the load is a little high (1.85 at the moment), mercury is responsive and seems to be handling the traffic fine.

I'll keep an eye on it.

Oh, and I've got more to say on the issue of response time when i'm away from my desk and what I'm going to do about it, but i'll save that for another post.
