scandium up and running

Scandium is up and running again. If you notice any problems with your account, please let me know.

The reason for the urgency was that there was a hack attempt on this machine this morning. A few system files were compromised, but no real harm was done. To be safe, I had rackspace install a new hard drive with a fresh operating system (and upgrade it to red hat 7.3 while they were at it).

The vulnerability was in the linux kernel. I apply all application security patches immediately, but I'd been less strict with kernel patches since they require a reboot.

Of course, I patched the kernels on all machines today, so there was a few minutes of downtime throughout the network. In the future, I'll try to do this during off-peak hours.
